Welcome
to Moore's Hillje Auction
We are a family owned, full service auction company.
Our story began over 20 years ago, when our founder caught the "auction bug". James Moore was a Teacher and
Coach by profession and a collector at heart. Upon his retirement from coaching, he needed something to feed his competitive
spirit, so a new game began. He would spend each weekend checking out garage sales, flea markets, auctions, etc for
his deals -- you see the game was "how little can you pay and how much can you sell it for?". We have laughed
about his planning trips around yard sales, and every vacation he came home with much more than he left with. So in
1996, when the previous owners of Hillje Auction decided to sell, James jumped into the ring. He was the face of Moore's
Hillje Auction for over 18 years and truly enjoyed the years he spent as an auctioneer and the friends he met along the way.
Upon his death in 2014, Moore's Hillje Auction was left without an auctioneer, prompting James and Maxine's oldest son, Kirk,
to obtain his license, in order to continue the family business.
Maxine, Kirk, and the Moore Family have continued to conduct business in the same spirit as James ---- Honesty
is always the best policy. We strive to have happy clients, whether consignors or buyers, and to provide
everyone with a enjoyable auction experience. Moore's Hillje Auction hopes to continue serving the Coastal Bend area
for years to come.
