Welcome to Moore's Hillje Auction

We are a family owned, full service auction company.  Our story began over 20 years ago, when our founder caught the "auction bug".  James Moore was a Teacher and Coach by profession and a collector at heart.  Upon his retirement from coaching, he needed something to feed his competitive spirit, so a new game began.  He would spend each weekend checking out garage sales, flea markets, auctions, etc for his deals -- you see the game was "how little can you pay and how much can you sell it for?".  We have laughed about his planning trips around yard sales, and every vacation he came home with much more than he left with.  So in 1996, when the previous owners of Hillje Auction decided to sell, James jumped into the ring.  He was the face of Moore's Hillje Auction for over 18 years and truly enjoyed the years he spent as an auctioneer and the friends he met along the way.  Upon his death in 2014, Moore's Hillje Auction was left without an auctioneer, prompting James and Maxine's oldest son, Kirk, to obtain his license, in order to continue the family business.

Maxine, Kirk, and the Moore Family have continued to conduct business in the same spirit as James ---- Honesty is always the best policy.  We strive to have happy clients, whether consignors or buyers, and to provide  everyone with a enjoyable auction experience.  Moore's Hillje Auction hopes to continue serving the Coastal Bend area for years to come.

Where has this year gone????
Wow - it's hard to believe but September has arrived and fall is upon us! (If only the weather would get the hint!)  Anyway, its time for our monthly consignment auction and this is shaping up to be a good one. We have many of the usual suspects -- Windberg Prints, Beautiful Glassware. Tools, Coins, Jewelry, etc. Items of particular interest include a primitive table, an old barn door (like 125 years), vintage patio furniture, and cast iron -- a kettle and a cauldron!  Addtitionally we have nice fall decor to get you in the mood for cooler weather (mind over matter) as well as other seasonal decorations, including for that big holiday in December.  (I refuse to think about it yet!)  Hoping to get more pictures posted soon-here and on facebook.  Keep following along for updates!  See you at the auction and as always -- Happy Bidding!

Auction Update and Online Auction Link

Huge Thanks to all our consignors and bidders who have supported us for the past 22 years!  We are honored to have earned your business and hope to continue to do so for the next several years.  We are constantly trying to improve our service to each and everyone of you.  With that in mind we made the decision to begin offering online auction services in addition to our in-house and on-site auction services.  Our goal is to offer one online sale in addition to our regular Hillje sale each month.  Our online auctions allow us to reach a larger audience for our consignors and allows our buyers the convenience of "shopping" at home.  Each sale will have a preview date posted on the auction information page so you may still come and inspect items before bidding.  We will post pickup times on all winning invoices which are emailed at the close of the auction.  You must register with a credit card, which we will charge at the close of the sale for your total... However, our established customers may pay by cash or check - please notify us prior to closing if you chose this method.

We have posted several online auctions over the summer and have recieved excellent feedback from our customers.  We hope that you will take the time to check our one of our online sales for yourself.  They will always be listed on the "Current Auctions" tab and we usually have a link here on the front page.  Our current online sale is the liquidation of ACME American Antiques in Louise, Texas.  I have posted the link below so that you may go directly to the auction page.

Thanks Again for putting your trust in us.  Stay posted for updates on our next Hillje Auction on Sept. 22, 2019 and also on upcoming online sales.

Until then -- Happy Bidding!
